About the role
We’re seeking casual Retail Assistants to work in our Farmgate Shop at Sages Cottage Farm. You will provide excellent customer service, handle customer enquiries, process sales, restock shelves and ensure a clean and safe environment for both staff and visitors.
Availability needed to work Saturdays & Sundays as required. 9:00am – 3:30pm (Times may vary depending on seasons and jobs required).
On occasion, you will provide ad hoc support with animal feeding duties, primarily as cover when volunteers are unavailable. Training and guidance will be provided.
About the Farmgate
Once a disused gatehouse, the Farmgate has been transformed into a rustic, vibrant shop nestled between Sages Café and Sages Cottage. It features:
* Fresh produce and plants grown onsite
* Handcrafted gifts, cards, and apparel made by our clients
* Locally sourced artisan products
What you'll need to succeed
* 1 - 2 years’ experience in retail (hospitality experience also considered)
* Experience and knowledge in plants or horticulture (desirable)
* Demonstrated experience/ability to upsell
* Ability to setup and create in-store merchandising displays
* Enjoy and thrive on customer interaction and the thrill of getting a sale/meeting KPIs
* Strong communication skills; ability to prevent and resolve issues and to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
* Proactive and positive attitude with a demonstrated professional approach to work
* Ability to work independently and take initiative
* Commitment to the principles of WHS, EEO, Cultural Diversity and all relevant legislation.

* Full Victorian driver licence.
