Grounds Maintenance Crew Lead
The Role

We are seeking a motivated Grounds Team Lead to oversee and deliver grounds maintenance services across various Sydney Water sites in South West & M5 corridor, Sydney NSW. This hands-on role involves regular travel between locations and active participation in maintenance tasks. A strong safety-first mindset is essential, as you'll be responsible for upholding and promoting safe work practices across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate whipper snippers, blowers, and mowers to manage vegetation and maintain large open areas.
* Support broader grounds maintenance activities as needed.
* Lead on-site delivery of works, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and a consistent focus on safety.
* Record job details using an iPad, including photos, work logs, pre-starts, and labour entries.
* Conduct routine maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
* Adhere to and champion all safety procedures and work practices, ensuring team compliance and hazard awareness.
Requirements
* Valid Construction White Card.
* Current driver's licence (essential).
* Experience with towing trailers or ability to learn
* Comfortable using digital systems and iPads for reporting.
* Positive, flexible attitude and strong teamwork skills.
* Safety-conscious with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and others.
* Willingness to complete onboarding requirements: medical checks, reference and police checks.
* Previous experience in grounds maintenance is essential.
