Job Description
The Prime Mover Operator/Driver is a pivotal role in supporting construction activities by transporting and delivering poles directly to pegged locations on site.
This individual must possess excellent navigation skills, as they will be responsible for safely operating a prime mover in accordance with site and company requirements. They will transport and deliver poles to designated points as directed by site supervisors.
A key aspect of this role is conducting daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. The Prime Mover Operator/Driver must also ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with load restraint regulations.
Additionally, they will assist site teams with pole positioning and movement where required, complete trip sheets, logbooks, and other required documentation accurately, and comply with all site safety, traffic management, and environmental procedures.
It is essential for the successful candidate to have previous experience operating a prime mover in construction, mining, or heavy industry environments. A current MC or HC Driver's Licence is mandatory, as well as a Construction White Card. Proven ability to work safely in high-risk environments is also a requirement.
Sound knowledge of load restraint and heavy haulage requirements is necessary, along with the ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen. Two contactable work-related references are also required.
