Technician Team Leader | Lead & Drive Maintenance Excellence
Location: Bayswater Power Station, Muswellbrook NSW.

Are you a skilled Electrical Technician with leadership experience? Do you thrive in team management, maintenance planning, and problem-solving? At AGL, we are looking for a Technician Team Leader to oversee a multi-disciplined maintenance team, ensuring operational excellence at our power station.
About the Role
As the Technician Team Leader, you will lead a team of maintenance professionals, overseeing routine and preventative maintenance, defect repairs, plant isolations, and modifications. You will play a key role in driving efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and fostering a positive and productive team culture.

Key Responsibilities- Manage a workshop facility and a team of technicians and contractors.- Oversee routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance of power station equipment.- Plan maintenance activities, plant isolations, and defect repairs for both in-house teams and contractors.- Continually develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.- Oversee employee relations, attendance, welfare, and safety compliance.- Coach, mentor, and upskill team members, including apprentices.- Ensure strict compliance with safety legislation, policies, and environmental standards.- Manage team budgets, monitor costs, and provide accurate reports.
What We're Looking For- Electrical Trades Certificate and Electrical Supervisor Licence together with relevant practical experience in instrumentation and controls within a heavy industry.- Proven team leadership experience or completion of a recognised leadership course.- Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills in heavy industry environments.- Experience in workforce development, training, and mentoring.- Ability to manage budgets, costs, and maintenance priorities.- Proficient in MS Office and SAP or similar IT systems.- Outstanding negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
