As our much‐valued current Manager, People & Culture prepares to depart, we are now looking to secure a new leader for the role. The successful candidate will lead the People & Culture (P&C) Unit in developing and delivering innovative, contemporary, and fit-for-purpose people practices that foster an inspiring and inclusive organisational culture, together with managing the employee life cycle (recruitment, performance, development, and wellbeing) to drive engagement and the achievement of organisational goals.
As a trusted colleague, you'll have professional flexibility to perform the role whilst being empowered to build a sense of community at work. You'll be reporting to the Director, Corporate Services.
About Us
The Parliament of Tasmania is a meeting place where elected representatives meet to make laws, authorise the expenditure of public funds, scrutinise the government of the day, and give a voice to their constituents in the electorates. The Parliament is made up of three (3) separate Departments consisting of House of Assembly, Legislative Council, and Legislature - General.
Location
We foster a collaborative and engaging workplace. As such, this role is required to be performed in person and on site in Hobart and may involve work at additional locations depending on operational requirements.
We want to hear from you if you have
· A tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations, psychology, or a related discipline.
· Proven people and culture/HR management experience demonstrating success in the design, development, and implementation of strategies.
· High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
· Proven ability to provide great support to a diverse range of people in a respectful and flexible manner.
· Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills and the proven capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team.
· Excellent time management skills including demonstrated ability to prioritise, plan and organise work, exercise initiative, and appropriately apply judgement to ensure delivery to deadlines.
· Have or be able to obtain a 'Registration to Work with Vulnerable People' and 'national police record check'.
