About the role The Vascular Unit at Western Health is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Vascular Surgeon to join our dynamic and growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high‐quality clinical care to patients across Western Health, supervising and training Junior Medical Staff, and contributing to the organization's strategic priorities and ongoing clinical excellence initiatives.The Unit provides substantial opportunities for peer review, case discussion, and multidisciplinary collaboration, supporting continuous professional development and evidence‐based practice. Recognized for its supportive and collegiate culture, the ENT service fosters an environment that promotes professional growth, high‐quality patient care, and strong teamwork across all perioperative and clinical areas.Key responsibilitiesProvide expert clinical care in Vascular surgery, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients undergoing elective and emergency procedures.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and actively contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive patient management plans.Supervise, mentor, and support Junior Medical Staff, including registrars, HMOs, and interns, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and professional development.Contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of surgical education and training programs, supporting Western Health's commitment to teaching and learning.Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety, and quality standards, including adherence to Western Health policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.Collaborate with other departments and clinical services to ensure coordinated, integrated, and patient‐centred care across the organisation.Support Western Health's strategic initiatives, including service improvement, innovation, and the implementation of evidence‐based models of care.Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement activities, contributing to continuous improvement and best‐practice outcomes.About you You are a dedicated and forward‐thinking clinician who:Credentials for the positionFellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of SurgeonsExperience in the support and supervision of Junior Medical StaffDemonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care teamEffective organisational skills, with respect to time management and delegationWell‐developed written and verbal communication skillsDisplays and express a high level of ethics about patients, colleagues and the organizationDemonstrates skill and maturity in problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolutionDemonstrates ability to make decisions and support rationale, clearly communicate decisions to relevant partiesMaintains confidentiality of patient, institutional and employee informationCommitment to professional developmentAnalyses own performance in accordance with position expectations.
