Position Overview
The Assessment & Transition Coordinator plays a pivotal role in assisting Corrections Victoria with the implementation of an Integrated Risk Assessment and Management Framework for the parole system. This position focuses on enhancing community safety through a robust transition process for prisoners re‑entering society.
In this role, you will provide essential support services to facilitate prisoners' transition into, throughout, and out of the correctional system. You will coordinate relevant programs, liaise with external service providers, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to parole applications and transitional services.
The successful candidate will be provided comprehensive training in the Corrections Victoria Reintegration Pathway (CVRP) and associated assessments and be supported to gain accreditation in structured risk‑related assessment tools.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will possess a blend of educational qualifications and practical experience in human services or related fields, demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges surrounding prisoner transition and reintegration.
* Tertiary qualification in human services, welfare practice, education, or related field
* Experience working with hard‑to‑engage clients
* Strong people management and communication skills
* Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders effectively
* Proven problem‑solving capabilities in operational contexts

With a focus on rehabilitation and reintegration, the Centre manages a population of up to 1,049 male prisoners, including an 84 bed Nalu Transition Community Program.
