* Central role in providing a range of supports and services to assist prisoners transition into, through and out of prison
* Facilitate prisoner transition through pre-release, post-release and transitional programs
* Full Time (Mon-Fri), with a competitive salary of approx. $86,157.72 p.a., exclusive of superannuation


Position Overview

The Assessment & Transition Coordinator plays a pivotal role in assisting Corrections Victoria with the implementation of an Integrated Risk Assessment and Management Framework for the parole system. This position focuses on enhancing community safety through a robust transition process for prisoners re‑entering society.

In this role, you will provide essential support services to facilitate prisoners' transition into, throughout, and out of the correctional system. You will coordinate relevant programs, liaise with external service providers, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to parole applications and transitional services.

The successful candidate will be provided comprehensive training in the Corrections Victoria Reintegration Pathway (CVRP) and associated assessments and be supported to gain accreditation in structured risk‑related assessment tools.


Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a blend of educational qualifications and practical experience in human services or related fields, demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges surrounding prisoner transition and reintegration.

* Tertiary qualification in human services, welfare practice, education, or related field
* Experience working with hard‑to‑engage clients
* Strong people management and communication skills
* Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders effectively
* Proven problem‑solving capabilities in operational contexts
* Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment
* Experience working within a legislative framework
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting

This role requires a commitment to fostering positive relationships with prisoners, staff, and external stakeholders while ensuring safety, security, and compliance with relevant regulations. A satisfactory security and police clearance will be necessary for this position.

Company Overview

Fulham Correctional Centre is the largest privately managed prison facility in rural Victoria, located in Fulham. With a focus on rehabilitation and reintegration, the Centre manages a population of up to 1,049 male prisoners, including an 84 bed Nalu Transition Community Program. Our mission is to provide offenders with the opportunity to engage in work, education, and transformative programs that address the root causes of criminal behaviour.

* In‑Person (preferred) or Virtual Interview Attendance.
* Reference checks will be conducted following the interview.
* National Police Certificate Authority Clearance.
* Pre‑Employment Medical and Fitness Assessment, which will be covered by our organisation. The evaluation will likely include various aspects, including assessed lifting capacity, aerobic fitness, lung function, grip strength, upper body strength, lower body strength, and core strength.
* Corrections Victoria clearance.


Important

Please note that Pre‑Employment clearance can take approximately 6‑8 weeks.
