The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Officer to join our dynamic team in Darwin. The primary role is to assist the Project Manager in managing contracts and providing administrative support for Defence & Government Business Units.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provision and coordination of operational requirements in accordance with existing projects/contracts.
* Planning operational service delivery and logistics coordinators assignment for individual tasks received from clients.
* Managing company data and following up with Operations Manager for process completions after every task.
* Compiling and updating databases for sub-agents/suppliers and port guides in ports where port services are provided by Defence & Government.
* Assisting Operations Manager in planning and day-to-day coordination and management of operational activities in marine services.
* Implementing operational plans as per contract requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A level of understanding of commercial logistic functions including transport services, port agency services, warehousing and distribution.
* Exposure to maritime logistics and vessel planning is favourable.
* Well-developed organisational and computer skills (e.g. MS Office).
* Working knowledge of contemporary procurement practices, data entry, invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Understanding of procurement concepts for business and customer.
* Systems experience in SAP highly regarded.
