The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (RA) is responsible for regulating Queensland's early childhood education and care sector and for assessing and rating its services against the National Quality Standard.
The RA seeks applicants with current early childhood knowledge, understanding, and/or experience of regulatory practices or monitoring in other fields.
Suitable applicants will have strong communication skills, a passion for early childhood, an understanding of the role of regulators, and a proven ability to achieve results.

Your Role
Support the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority by consistently and fairly applying relevant early childhood education and care (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies, and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector within the context of the Regulating for Quality policy.
Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regional offices and ECEC providers, to achieve regulatory outcomes.
The Senior Regulatory Officer reports to the Manager, Regulation, Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, North QLD Region, Early Childhood, Regulation and Communication Division.
Responsibilities Will Include
Undertake regulatory activities and make recommendations that support the Regulatory Authority to carry out its functions under the legislation and in accordance with good administrative decision-making principles.
Provide recommendations informed by data, evidence analysis, and accurate interpretation of legislation.
Identify and respond to risk in the ECEC sector through risk-based decision-making, exercising powers, gathering evidence, and escalating matters accordingly.
Implement operational policy initiatives that draw on feedback, evaluation, and data analysis to improve regulatory processes and practice.
Contribute to effective record-keeping practices, data quality assurance, and appropriate use of regulatory systems.
Provide quality advice and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders, including ECEC providers and services and the general public, on regulatory activities.
Prepare accurate, well-written communication across a range of ECEC regulation matters, including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions, and recommendations.
Perform other suitable duties consistent with the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
