Overview
We are looking for a Snr Farm Hand to join our high performing team at the Tick Fever Centre to:
* Assist with Biosecurity Practices to ensure the disease‑free status of the Specific Pathogen Free herd is maintained
* Provide practical skills and knowledge in animal husbandry
* Assist with delivery of operational plans for land preparation for pasture improvement
Role
As our Snr Farm Hand, you will provide practical animal related activities with the farm and quarantine sheds, that preserve and protect Queensland's biosecurity. You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:
* Accurately perform routine tasks in accordance with Animal Ethics and Workplace Health & Safety requirements
* Ensure assigned tasks are undertaken promptly and meet the project deliverables
* Actively contribute as a member of a high‑performing team
Qualifications
* Commitment to obtain vaccination or evidence of prior vaccination to Q fever required prior to starting with Biosecurity Queensland
* A current 'C' class driver's licence
* Previous experience working with large animals
Desirable Licences
* HR, forklift, chainsaw, quad bike, tractor/front‑end loader licences

It is a requirement for all Biosecurity Queensland positions to have a criminal history check completed.
