Full-Time Chef – Kin Early Learning Centre, Queanbeyan
Full-time, 38 hours per week. Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year + Superannuation.
Kin Early Learning Centre is seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef to join our team full-time. At Kin, food is more than a meal — it's an experience of care, connection, and community. About the Role
Your role will include:
Overseeing the daily preparation and delivery of nutritious, balanced meals in line with our menu and children's dietary requirements.
Managing menu planning, food costing, and stock control, ensuring seasonal and sustainable ingredients are used.
Leading all aspects of kitchen compliance, including food safety, hygiene, and allergy management under the NSW Food Authority standards.
Coordinating ordering, stock rotation, and supplier relationships.
Supporting a warm, inclusive, and organized kitchen environment.
Maintaining accurate records for audits and regulatory compliance.
Working collaboratively with the leadership team to develop menus that reflect Kin's philosophy of nourishing the whole child.
About You
You are an organized, creative, and caring professional who takes pride in preparing meals that support children's wellbeing. You will have:
At least one year of experience working as a Chef (experience in early childhood or institutional catering is an advantage).
A Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (preferred).
A strong understanding of nutrition, portion control, and allergy management.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (Food Safety Supervisor certification desirable).
Excellent time management, organization, and leadership skills.
A warm, positive attitude and genuine passion for creating healthy, child-friendly meals.
Ability to obtain a NSW working with children check and police check.
Complete a menu planning qualification.
Complete child protection training on a yearly basis.
Work Hours
Full-time, 38 hours per week – Monday to Friday.
