What To Expect
Tesla is seeking experienced electrical technicians to maintain and service utility scale battery sites, primarily working on the Tesla Megapack battery storage product. In this role, you will join the technician team supporting battery storage sites located within the Western Downs/Chinchilla region, to service, troubleshoot, or upgrade medium to high voltage equipment.
Applicants should be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude, who see this as an opportunity to begin building a career with Tesla in the renewable energy infrastructure sector. You will be part of a high performing and tight knit team on site.
What You'll Do
Please note this position will primarily be based within the Western Downs/Chinchilla region, however occasional travel to support other regional sites may be required.
Responsibilities
1. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering team
2. Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug, rework and repair
3. Perform tasks requiring a high level of skill and patience
4. Comfortable and able to work with Medium and High Voltage environments while maintaining a safety focus
5. Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools and LV/MV/HV test equipment for diagnosis and troubleshooting
6. Develop and follow best practices and procedures for various maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipment
7. Maintain high levels of communication and feedback within the Tesla Energy service organization; prepare daily updates of work completed, problems identified, and future timelines.
8. Have flexibility to provide support outside your region and possibly outside the country as required
9. Perform other related duties as assigned per our growth and diversity across applications
10. Actively work across Powerpack and Megapack Utility sites, ensuring operations & maintenance requirements are met, maintaining a healthy fleet that is performing optimally
Requirements
What You'll Bring
11. Certified Electrician (Cert III (3)+ in Electrical/Electro Technology)
12. Minimum 5 years' experience, with at least 3 years' electrical experience within the Utility sector (Solar/Wind experience is preferred)
13. Must have up to date Electrical Registration/License
14. Must have HV switching certification and experience
15. SCADA operating experience is a plus
16. Must be able to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions depending on situation
17. Strong computer skills, ability to utilise proprietary and 3rd party OEM software
18. Ability to communicate and function well in a mobile office setting
19. Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings
20. Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed, and quality focused
21. Willingness to work outdoors, occasionally on the road at unusual hours
22. Valid driver's license required
23. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, test equipment
24. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
25. Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
26. Ability to maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance
