About theRole
Areyou passionate about animal welfare and community education? Joinour team as an Animal Care and Programs Officer, where you'llplay a key role in shaping the future of animal management andcommunity engagement.
Thisis a full-time position, working Tuesday to Friday from 8:00am to4:30pm and Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:15pm. It's ideal forsomeone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and iscommitted to making a difference in both animal welfare andcommunity programs.
Inthis role, you'll be the central point of contact for the deliveryand development of innovative education and volunteer programs,with a strong focus on animal care and stakeholder engagement.You'll work closely with government bodies, not-for-profits,and social enterprises to deliver programs that truly make animpact.
Yourresponsibilities will include managing volunteer and foster careprograms, delivering educational initiatives, training new teammembers, and ensuring all operations meet the highest standards ofsafety, care, and compliance. You'll also evaluate programeffectiveness and stay on top of legislative and industry changesto keep our services relevant and responsive.

AboutYou
TheIdeal candidate will have:
* A minimum offive years of experience in the animal care industry, withadvanced knowledge in animal handling, behavioural assessments,and health management to ensure the wellbeing of cats anddogs.
* Relevantqualifications such as a Certificate IV or Diploma in animalhusbandry, animal behaviour, veterinary nursing, or equivalentindustry experience.
* Flexibility towork Saturdays and extended hours when required.
* A currentQueensland C class driver's licence.
* A valid Workingwith Children Check (Blue Card) or the ability to obtainone.
* Current FirstAid and CPR certification (or willingness toobtain).
* Q Fevervaccination or willingness to be vaccinated.
* Ability tocomplete a Fit for Work Medical and a National PoliceCheck.
* A strong trackrecord of delivering high-quality, stakeholder-focused programsfor government bodies, not-for-profit organisations, or socialenterprises.
* Experiencementoring and training others, providing guidance to internaland external stakeholders, and contributing to effective dailyoperations.
* Demonstratedability to identify areas for improvement, implement changes toenhance program delivery, and ensure a high standard of serviceand customer experience.
* Excellentcommunication skills — both verbal and written —including the ability to write reports, deliver presentations,and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences,including media where appropriate.
* High-leveladministrative and record-keeping skills, including accuratereceipting and data management for animals in care.
