Water Sector (Power Platform) Developer Executive Level 1 Location: Melbourne preferred, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra considered About Agriculture and Water Agriculture and Water is a program within the Bureau's Business Solutions Group. The program engages key customers including the Australian Government and the Agriculture and Water industry to deliver solutions that uplift the value and impact they and their customers receive from Bureau products, services and data. Whilst providing services across the Agriculture and Water program, this role exists within the Water Regulations and Standards (WRS) section. This section supports the fundamental role of the Bureau under the Water Act and Water Regulations to lead and administer the collection, storage and sharing of national water information, inclusive of water markets information and water markets decisions. Position overview The Water Sector (Power Platform) Developer (the Developer) plays an integral part in the Bureau's Water Markets Reform program, which aims to improve trust and transparency in water trading across the Murray-Darling Basin. A key responsibility of this program is to develop the digital platforms that facilitate the collection and sharing of national water information. Additionally, the Developer will support the seamless transition of the Water Market Reforms program responsibilities and resources into the BAU operations of the Water Regulations and Standards section and to the Data and Digital Group (DDG). The role will focus exclusively on the Bureau's water systems and requires an experienced well-rounded developer with full stack (particularly AWS cloud) and Power Apps Studio proficiency, to maintain system alignment with the evolving Water Act, Water Regulations and Water Market Data Standards. This ongoing alignment is achieved through significant industry consultation, regular release cycles and industry wide regression testing. Given the critical role the systems play supporting the Bureau's regulatory functions and obligations and as this position will represent the Bureau in external technical forums, an ability to understand the regulatory framework and the industry, together with operating to the highest standards of reliability, accuracy and professionalism will be required. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: 1. Contribute to the detailed design and development of significant elements of new solutions, with clear documentation on the code produced. 2. Leverage their expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI to develop applications, automate workflows and provide actionable insights through data visualisation. 3. Form a key part of delivery teams to uplift legacy systems and develop integrated digital water solutions incorporating AWS cloud. 4. Closely collaborate with the Bureau's DevOps and Test specialists to ensure that CI/CD, and Testing are performed according to the Bureau Application Excellence Framework (AEF) development standards and other standards where applicable. 5. Take responsibility for the performance, quality and testability of code produced. 6. Collaborate closely with the internal team and external partners to understand and agree deliverables, provide status updates and conduct integrated testing. 7. Provide support and ongoing maintenance of the suite of water applications. 8. Communicating concepts and delivering showcases to technical and business stakeholders. 9.
