We're searching for an exceptional Full-stack Developer who is passionate about software, product, loves shipping, and wants to help build Australia's next FinTech .
Who we are
Hudled is a B2B SaaS company born during the pandemic. Our current focus is Rechargly – a platform that helps accounting firms automate the messy world of software subscriptions and client recharges.
Instead of exporting CSVs, cleaning them in spreadsheets, and manually raising invoices, Rechargly plugs into practice tools and vendor bills to:
* Normalise messy subscription data
* Map costs to the right client or cost centre
* Automatically generate invoice-ready charges
Our traction
After several years of mistakes, learning and execution across Hudled and now Rechargly, we're in a sweet spot where we have:
* Strong Product-Market Fit
* Strong recurring revenue with clear paths to expand inside existing firms
* Deep integrations with key accounting systems in our niche (e.g. Xero, XPM, etc)
* Backing from top-tier investors and founders, plus a network of operators who've built and scaled SaaS before
Evidence from firms that our product solves a real, painful problem around software recharges and billing. High growth – we quadruple our revenue in the last 12 months.
Challenges ahead
* Scale Rechargly across accounting firms in ANZ and beyond
* Refine and consolidate core product functionalities (e.g. charge capture, approvals, billing, reconciliation)
* Keep our platform fast, reliable and secure as data volumes grow
* Shape our engineering culture that balances speed, quality and pragmatism
Full-stack Developer
As a Full-stack Developer, you'll work across the stack to design, build and ship product features end-to-end. You'll collaborate directly with CTO and other founders to turn real customer problems into simple, reliable solutions. You'll be hands‑on: scoping, coding, reviewing, and iterating quickly based on feedback.
You'll also help us improve our architecture, tooling, and engineering practices as we grow.
About you
We're looking for people with the right product mindset and the potential for exceptional work.
You might have a strong track record already, or you might be earlier in your journey but hungry and capable. You:
* Are comfortable working across frontend and backend, even if you're stronger on one side
* Care about user experience, not just "getting the ticket done"
* Are happy in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous startup environment
* Prefer simple, maintainable solutions over clever complexity
* Communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with non-engineers (founders, customers, partners)
These are some of the kinds of questions you'll enjoy thinking about and helping us answer:
* How do we design our APIs and UI so we can ship fast today without blocking ourselves in 12 months?
* When is it worth refactoring vs delivering a new feature?
* What are the core skills – both technical and behavioural – that engineers in a small startup should develop?
* Which engineering practices (testing, reviews, observability, docs) make the most impact at our stage?
* How do we keep technical debt under control while still moving fast?
* How can we leverage the new AI tools into our codebase so that product can speed up the rate of features shipped?
Key responsibilities
* Own features end-to-end: from idea and technical design to implementation, rollout, and iteration
* Collaborate with founders and product to turn customer problems into clear, scoped solutions
* Contribute to and improve our architecture, patterns, and engineering practices
* Help keep our platform reliable, secure and performant as usage grows
* Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable code and give thoughtful code reviews
* Participate in customer-driven development: occasionally join calls, watch user sessions, and learn from real workflows
* Contribute to building an inclusive, supportive engineering culture where people can do their best work
Tech stack
You don't need to know everything here on day one, but you should be strong in JavaScript/TypeScript and comfortable picking things up quickly. Current stack (evolving):
Frontend: React, TypeScript, Material UI
Backend: Node.js / TypeScript, Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions) and related services
Infrastructure: Google Cloud / Firebase
Tooling: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Sentry, analytics tools for product usage
