About The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Fitter & Turner / Machinist to join a busy manufacturing workshop producing custom bulk handling equipment.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Operating manual machining equipment including centre lathes, milling, drilling, and slotting machines
* Setting up and machining components for custom-built equipment and projects
* Working autonomously to complete fitting and machining tasks to specification
* Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and workmanship
* Assisting with fabrication, assembly, and workshop-based tasks as required
* Ensuring all work complies with safety, quality, and workshop procedures
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner or equivalent industry experience
* Demonstrated experience with manual machining equipment
* Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* A proactive, reliable, and safety-focused approach
You will also ideally have:
* Experience with basic hydraulics and MIG welding
* Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
* Willingness to work overtime when required
