We're looking for reliable and motivated individuals to join our clients team as Courier Drivers and Freight Handlers in Toowoomba. Your main responsibility will be delivering packages, goods, and documents to clients in a safe and efficient manner, while making sure they're satisfied with our service. As a Courier Driver and Freight Handler, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth transportation of freight and packages across Toowoomba.
**Responsibilities**:
- Safely and efficiently deliver packages, goods, and documents to clients within assigned routes and timeframes
- Load and unload freight from vehicles, making sure packages are handled and secured properly
- Double-check delivery instructions, addresses, and contact information before departure
- Plan and organize delivery routes to save time and fuel
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery, signatures, and any incidents or issues encountered
- Provide exceptional customer service by handling inquiries, complaints, and resolving any delivery-related concerns promptly and professionally
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving company vehicles
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, reporting any mechanical issues or damages promptly
- Collaborate with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and respond to customer requests promptly
- Keep a clean and organized work environment, including vehicles and delivery equipment
**Requirements**:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Van Drivers)
- Valid MR License with a clean driving history
- Ability to pass a pre-medical, police check and drug and alcohol screening.
- Previous experience as a courier driver or in a similar delivery role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to safely operate different types of vehicles, including vans and trucks
- Excellent knowledge of Toowoomba's roads, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns
- Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure timely deliveries
- Ability to handle and lift heavy items, as required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recording delivery information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, if required
