Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise-grade Fortinet SD-WAN solutions.
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of enterprise network solutions across our customers' complex environment.
This role combines deep technical expertise with solid executive-level stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the network is secure, reliable, and aligned with business priorities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, configure, and implement secure enterprise networking solutions, with an emphasis on Fortinet firewall technologies.
- Track, assess, and fine-tune network performance; proactively detect and resolve issues to maintain seamless business operations.
- Define and uphold network security policies and standards, ensuring alignment with governance, audit, and risk management requirements.
- Act as the voice of the Network function at a senior level, engaging and communicating effectively with IT leaders, support teams, and infrastructure stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams, telecommunications providers, vendors, and service partners to deliver consistent services and manage escalations efficiently.
- Contribute to large-scale initiatives such as network migrations, upgrades, and transformation projects, meeting deadlines and project outcomes.
- Support enterprise voice systems and integrate them into the broader network where needed.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry practices, contributing to ongoing improvement and readiness of the network environment.
More About You
- Advanced expertise with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer).
- Strong grounding in enterprise networking - TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VPN solutions (L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS).
- Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across multi-vendor platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at executive levels.
- Familiarity with ISP/service provider operations; exposure to enterprise voice solutions is beneficial.
- Highly organised, with proven ability to manage priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- 7+ years in network engineering
- Professional certifications such as Fortinet NSE (required); Cisco/Juniper accreditations (preferred).
Onsite details: Initial 3-6 month contract with potential to transition into a permanent role.
ONSITE (Mt Waverly, VIC).
Daily rate: $850 (inc SUPER).
