Role Overview:
The Junior Store Person will play a crucial role in the logistical operations of a warehouse in Ballarat and be exposed to varying temperatures and noise levels. You will be responsible for operating forklifts or pallet jacks and handling the day-to-day operations within the warehouse. This role is responsible for efficiently handling incoming and outgoing shipments of goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, with precision and care, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
· Receiving and processing incoming stock and materials
· Picking and filling orders from stock
· Packing and shipping orders
· Managing and organising inventory
· Organising goods in dedicated storage areas
· Safely packing items for shipment and labelling them correctly
· Storing products and managing stock
· Conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies
· Keeping track of stock levels
· Reporting safety hazards or maintenance issues
· Maintaining the warehouse's cleanliness
· Inspecting received stock for product defects or damages
· Operating warehouse equipment and Forklift
· Maintain and expand upon current John Valve product knowledge
About You:
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
· Strong attention to detail and a good grasp of valve technology or related industries
· Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods
· Strong teamwork ethics
· Have a current Forklift license
· The drive to take ownership of your role and make a real impact for John Valves
· Outstanding communication skills and the ability to charm anyone you meet
· A collaborative spirit and the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done
· Impeccable organisation and time management skills
· Confidence in your technical Skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other Software programs.
