About the Role
An exciting permanent part-time opportunity is available for a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join our supportive team in the Sterilising Department at cairns Private Hospital. The anticipated start date is February 2026. While a Certificate in Sterilisation Services and/or previous experience is desirable, it is not essential, and comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.
In this role, you will:
* Assist with the cleaning, assembly, inspection, wrapping, and sterilisation of surgical instruments and medical equipment for both internal clinical departments and external customers.
* Work collaboratively with Operating Theatre staff to ensure the timely delivery of sterile products, trays, and equipment.
* Contribute to a high-performing team environment that manages workflow efficiently and meets critical deadlines.
* Undertake manual handling tasks and work on your feet for the duration of your shift.
You will play a vital role in the surgical process, and your ability to excel in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success.
Key Skills and Experience
To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:
* Certificate III in Sterilising Services (desirable).
* Previous experience as a Sterilising Services Technician (desirable).
* A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
* Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
* Sound understanding of the principles outlined in AS 5369:2023.
* Availability for Shift Work is essential

Requirements
* Must provide or complete a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
