Role Description
Amentum is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Defence Commercial Officer to support its client's commercial team in delivering high quality commercial, procurement and contracting services. The role operates within a technically complex maritime sustainment environment, supporting the delivery, optimisation and through-life management of unique specialised maritime capabilities.
This position requires a strong commercial acumen, deep familiarity with Defence ASDEFCON frameworks and the ability to support engineering, sustainment and logistics stakeholders; to enable effective commercial outcomes across a diverse portfolio of systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Provide commercial and procurement advise and support to executive and program stakeholders within complex maritime environments
* Support the development of strategic commercial, contract and procurement documentation, including plans, briefings, strategies and commercial timelines
* Assist with tender developments, approval artefacts, evaluation activities and contract formations, using the Defence ASDEFCON frameworks
* Contribute to contract administration, including performance monitoring, contract changes risk management and compliance activities
* Maintain contract management plans, commercial registers and supporting governance tools
* Assist in delivering commercial and contract process training to Defence personnel and enhancing commercial capabilities within the organisation
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline
* Demonstrated experience using Defence ASDEFCON frameworks and Commonwealth procurement processes
* Demonstrated experience in Defence maritime projects or commercial contract management roles
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, commercial acumen and the ability to navigate complex technical environments
* Hold an active Negative Vetting One (NV1) security clearance
