EML is a leading Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Claims Management business. Our goal is to help people get their lives back through ongoing support during their return‑to‑work journey. We continue to experience growth and now have over 4,000 dedicated employees, fostering a learning culture that allows us to invest in our people and ensure a long‑term career here at EML.

The Opportunity

As part of our diverse team based in Sydney or Newcastle, you’ll help make a positive impact on someone’s life every day. You’ll feel great satisfaction knowing your talent and hard work has a purpose.

The Claims Treatment Specialist Pharmacy role will see you utilise your expertise as a community pharmacist to advise on medication, communicate with injured workers and doctors, and collaborate with prescribers to ensure safe and appropriate treatment, especially concerning high‑risk medications. This role sits within EML’s Nominal Insurer (NI) portfolio, providing expert advice, optimisation of medication plans, support recovery in line with regulatory requirements, and education of stakeholders and operational team members on medication‑related issues.

Given the evolving nature of this position, it requires someone who is flexible, proactive and committed to refining processes for continuous improvement. This is a full‑time, 10‑month contract position based in the Sydney or Newcastle office, with work‑from‑home flexibility (up to 3 days per week) considered from month three, subject to performance and approval.

Your Responsibilities

* Develop and implement strategies to optimise medication and treatment management.
* Assess high‑risk medication use and provide clinical opinions on treatment strategies.
* Liaise with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages and utilisation.
* Educate injured workers, employers and stakeholders on medication use and risks.
* Identify the need for and refer to external services such as Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations.
* Provide training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices.

About You

* A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy is essential for this role.
* Current registration in the professional field.
* Demonstrated experience in clinical practice.
* Well‑established knowledge of disability and injury management best practice.
* An understanding and experience in the personal injury industry, ideally with knowledge of workers compensation legislation, would be highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.

What We Offer

* A vibrant, collaborative and innovative team culture.
* Flexibility with the opportunity to work from home once fully trained.
* A corporate wellbeing program with discounted health insurance and gym membership.
* Access to discounts at over 350 retailers through our Rewards Hub program.
* Entitlement to an annual tenure and performance‑based recognition reward.
* Comprehensive learning and development support.
* Company‑wide events to celebrate success.
* Quarterly Reward and Recognition Awards.
* Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave, plus super.

We value our people and are committed to supporting our employees by investing in their professional development and providing generous employee benefits. EML is an equal opportunity employer and celebrates diversity and inclusion. We are committed to maintaining a workplace where everyone feels valued and where we show respect, integrity and honesty.

If you’re interested in applying, please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and motivation for the role.
