Join the team as an Organisational Capability Manager and play a key role in shaping the people experience of one of the world's leading child health research organisations. The opportunity: As our Organisational Capability Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the Institute by shaping the capabilities, systems and culture that enable our people to do their best work.

In this highly collaborative role, you will partner closely with researchers, operational teams and the People & Culture team to design practical, inclusive tools and frameworks tailored to the unique realities of a research environment. You will lead initiatives that drive engagement, inclusion, career development and organisational capability—contributing to strategic projects such as our SAGE Athena Swan action plan and the broader people experience agenda.

Your responsibilities include:

* Develop and maintain a capability framework for research and support roles
* Build clear academic and non-academic research career pathways
* Lead the design and implementation of performance, development and promotion frameworks
* Refresh people policies to ensure clarity, inclusion and best practice
* Lead People Experience and SAGE surveys and turn insights into action
* Support initiatives that improve engagement, onboarding and offboarding experiences
* Oversee organisational capability programs and People Leader Essentials
* Support implementation of the SAGE Athena Swan action plan
* Facilitate co-design workshops and present frameworks to diverse audiences.

What we need from you:

* Five plus years' experience in organisational development, workforce planning and talent management
* Demonstrated experience designing and implementing capability/competency models and career pathways/ career development frameworks, ideally in an academic or research setting
* Understanding of research career pathways, non-academic research careers
* Exceptional facilitation, presentation and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience presenting at Executive level
* Strong project management/planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring quality service delivery
* Proven ability to lead and influence across all organisational levels
* Demonstrated experience developing inclusive people policies and programs
