Role
Research Integrity and Ethics Lead — Fremantle or Sydney (Broadway campus). Full-time opportunity, continuing contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the management and administration of research ethics and integrity functions to ensure compliance with University policies and external regulatory requirements.
* Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to staff and research students on research ethics, integrity, and governance matters.
* Develop and deliver training programs and resources to promote responsible research practices across the University.
* Support the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and senior research leadership by providing strategic advice on legislation, policies, and best practice in research ethics and integrity.
* Oversee ethics application processes, compliance monitoring, reporting obligations, and act as a liaison between researchers, committees, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* A relevant postgraduate qualification with extensive relevant experience in research or working with researchers in the higher education sector or a research institute, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Demonstrated experience in managing research ethics/integrity and/or the development of research projects, including ethical considerations in the conduct of the research.
* Experience in working on a human or animal research ethics committee (optional).
* Strong understanding of the Australian research landscape, including the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, and relevant legislation, standards, and policies relating to human and animal research, biosafety, biosecurity, defence trade controls, and foreign interactions.
* Ability to interpret complex policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, and provide high-level advice to ensure institutional compliance.
* Experience in case management, including investigating and resolving complaints or grievances, preferably within academic or legal environments.
* Proven capacity to strategically plan, prioritise, and manage multiple projects and deadlines while working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical skills, including strong report writing, stakeholder engagement, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other digital systems.
