Background
Our Advisory unit (responsible for the PPP Advisory and Infrastructure, Asset and Facilities Management Consulting verticals) brings extensive experience in facilities and asset management across new developments and existing infrastructure projects. Our broad service offerings include:
* Strategic contracting and procurement for FM and asset management services, encompassing contract specification design, evaluation criteria, performance frameworks, and payment mechanism modelling.
* Development of asset management strategies, frameworks and operational plans.
* Lifecycle cost analysis and financial modelling.
* Benchmarking FM and asset performance and maturity assessments / performance audits.
* Reviews of facilities management and asset maintenance service delivery.
* Technical advisory services for social infrastructure PPPs such as schools, hospitals, and housing.
We've partnered with government agencies and private organisations across a variety of property types and asset classes including education, health, aged care, justice, housing, events, civic (local government), defence, aviation, transport, and sport and recreation.
We're looking for a forward-thinking, seasoned Asset Management Advisor to join our established Sydney team. This role is key to delivering high-value asset advisory services and helping drive MBM's continued growth and impact.
Responsibilities & Duties
The ideal candidate will work closely with Directors and Associates to achieve key project outcomes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting with evaluation and review the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of potential asset management and FM service delivery models.
* Assisting with reviews of client asset management and FM service delivery models against industry best practice, such as ISO55000 and ISO 41000.
* Preparing lifecycle and whole of life cost models.
* Assisting with preparation of due diligence reports for asset management and FM services under PPP models.
* Assisting in providing advice on building maintenance, including preventative and reactive maintenance, minor works and life-cycle replacement strategies.
2. Procurement Support
* Assisting with the development of contracting and procurement documentation for asset management and FM services.
* Drafting of presentations and agendas for workshops with clients and stakeholders.
* Drafting of reports aligned to MBM format and structure, including:
* Feasibility analyses
* Peer review assessments including PSC and HVHR reporting
* Procurement scopes and bid evaluation reviews
* Performance management frameworks and KPIs
3. Contract Administration
* Assistance with preparation of review reports for operational plans, including:
* Performance management and monitoring plans
* Soft FM plans
* Assistance with evaluating the strengths weaknesses opportunities and threats of various asset and facilities management systems.
* Assisting clients with FM/asset management contract administration, including transition management, performance reviews, audits, contract variations, and general contract management.

Qualities & Skills
The successful candidate will have:
* A tertiary qualification across building, property, asset management or FM (or related discipline).
* Commercial experience across the asset management and FM procurement lifecycle including development of specifications, KPIs and payment mechanisms, evaluation and contract negotiation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong analytical abilities:
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Project).
Desirable skills and experience considered to be of benefit include:
* Accreditation with a relevant industry body (e.g. FMA, IFMA, TEFMA, UDIA, PFA, PCA, AMC, IAM, IPWEA, RICS or AIQS).
* Proficiency in data analysis and structuring.
