Your role and responsibilities As a Solution Architect you'll be a pivotal team member who connects the client's technical functional and implementation requirements with a solution design and proposal. You'll work closely with clients and sellers to build solutions based on the meeting the client's business outcomes and known best practices for the technology and industry. In this fast-paced role, you'll design, and construct build work breakdown structure leading to the rough order of magnitude leading to the price and statement of work. A successful Solution Architect will demonstrate a natural bias towards self-motivation and navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions that ensure world class delivery. To help achieve this win-win outcome, a 'day-in-the-life' of this opportunity may include, but not be limited to * End-to-End Technical Guidance: Providing expert end-to-end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with prospective clients, assess architecture needs for projects, work with technical leads and sellers to create proposals. * Finding the Best Architectural Outcomes: Leading client workshops; influencing client stakeholders at all levels to find the best architectural outcomes that align to business and technology strategies and initiatives into actionable roadmaps with clear direction on execution to ensure business value and ROI. * Maintaining Solution Review Boards: Developing and contributing to the solution review boards for proposals including oversight for technology assurance, quality and risk evaluation * Building Successful Relationships: Establishing and maintaining personal relationship at all levels - from engineers to CIOs - with experience of navigating challenging debate to reach healthy resolutions. Required technical and professional expertise * Documenting and Sizing Services: A provable track record of documenting and sizing services focused solutions including functional and implementation requirements that connect phases such as design, development, integration, migration, production support and development operations. * Building Credibility and Client-Centric Skills: Skills and knowledge for building credibility and services orientation with client stakeholders aligned to Data & AI solutions. * Data and AI Technology Experience: Experience with building creditability for Data and AI methodology and practices for data management, data fabric, data governance, trustworthy AI and business analytics or equivalent enterprise solutions. * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with immediate client, supervisor and peers, as well as, presentation, organizational and planning skills. * Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to gain clients confidence and maintain a professional relationship with clients, peers and management. * Capable of acting as a team lead on certain projects and supervising multiple developers assisting them with the programming and analysis functions. Develop work plans for individual tasks; work with minimal direction. * Experience with an agile development methodology as well as participating in JAD sessions and performing user requirements definitions. * Demonstrated ability to present technology solutions to executive levels * Ability to define architecture, design and oversight of key national projects, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to field resources. * Able to work independently and multi-task while managing multiple customers at a time * Demonstrate a team attitude and leadership * 10 years experience in IT system with 5 years working on solution architect role * Must be an Australian Citizen Preferred technical and professional experience * Data & AI Technology Expertise: Experience working with a broad spectrum of Data & AI technology solutions. * Cloud Consulting Experience: Experience working in consulting of solutions including SaaS / IaaS / PaaS and/or Cloud. * Expertise in Data and IT Technologies: Deep expertise requires an expert technical level in data and IT software technologies including several technology areas including IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Db2, COGNOS, IBM Watson Studio and related AI frameworks or equivalent enterprise solutions. * Government Clearance is highly desired IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
