About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to join the finance team at Secom Technical Services in Canberra.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to gain broad, hands-on experience across accounts payable, receivable and general finance administration.
You will work closely with the Financial Controller and a high-performing team, supporting day-to-day finance operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role will give you exposure to a wide range of financial processes, making it an ideal stepping stone into a long-term accounting career.

Key Responsibilities
* Process accounts payable invoices and match purchase orders
* Raise and manage customer invoices (accounts receivable)
* Monitor outstanding debts and follow up overdue accounts
* Perform reconciliations (supplier, customer, bank and balance sheet)
Data & Administration
* Maintain accurate financial records and high-volume data entry
* Investigate discrepancies and resolve payment or account issues
* Assist with employee expenses and credit card reconciliations
Reporting & Support
* Assist with finance reporting (aged receivables/payables, summaries)
* Support payroll administration tasks
* Assist with month-end processes, audits and compliance activities
Stakeholder Communication
* Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal teams
* Provide responsive and professional support across the business
What You'll Bring
* Australian Citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
* 1–2+ years' experience in accounts, finance admin or similar role
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage high volumes of invoices and data
* Intermediate Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (e.g. Xero)
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* A proactive, reliable and team-oriented approach
