About the role:
The Head of Technical will be a critical leadership appointment, reporting into the Managing Director. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, this role will own the food safety and quality program within a complex manufacturing setting, whilst also being heavily involved in anchoring technical delivery across innovation and packaging. This is very much a blended role, giving you the opportunity to be an active contributor in org strategy around product, whilst also being prepared to roll your sleeves up and build a highly capable technical function, collaborating actively across all major functions (operations, supply chain, sales, marketing etc.) Key accountabilities will include:
* Owning and maintaining a robust FSQ program within a high risk, complex food category. This includes all areas of quality systems, regulatory and NPD through a range of channels and external standards.
* A high degree of cross-discipline collaboration regarding innovation, this is a business that is genuinely looking to grow through SKU and category development
* Driving the growth and development of the business's technical capability, both within the Quality/Technical team and more broadly across the business.
What we are looking for:
* Demonstrated experience across Technical leadership. Ideally, you will have had exposure across innovation/R&D as well as a core grounding in quality/food safety.
* Outside of strong FSQ subject matter expertise, you are someone who is able to impact the technical journey outside of food safety and get actively involved in innovation, commercial and strategy.
* A strong understanding of the risk portfolio across the end to end breadth of supply chain
* High-care category exposure
* A strong track record of people development. A core component of the role will be capability uplift within the existing team, so you're able to demonstrate previous building of a technical function outside of quality systems/process.
