Network Development Engineer, Enterprise Networking, Network Capacity Services
Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Network Development Engineer to design, deploy, and automate network infrastructure across our global data centers and Amazon Retail Service. You'll collaborate with software, hardware, and security teams to deliver high‑availability, secure, and scalable enterprise networking.
Key Responsibilities
* Deploy network infrastructure across all network fabrics that support the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services.
* Deploy, scale, and automate network across many global data centers, including existing footprints and new locations.
* Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality.
* Create simple, repeatable processes and improve upon existing processes.
* Work closely with internal customers on designs/solutions and bring those designs from concept to production.
* Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
* Work closely with teams to define the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
Basic Qualifications
* Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.
* Knowledge of TCP/IP networks.
* Experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl).
* Experience troubleshooting layer 2 and layer 3 network problems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience coding and scripting in Python, Perl, BASH or equivalent.
* Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem and work toward resolution.
* Basic understanding of the UNIX/Linux operating environments with the ability to navigate, manipulate, and understand the file structure.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate efficiently with peers, stakeholders, and customers on projects.
