About the Role

Isuzu Australia Limited is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Strategic Projects Manager to lead the identification, development, and delivery of innovative business opportunities that support Isuzu Australia's long‐term growth.

Reporting to the Head of Strategy & New Business Solutions, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving portfolio diversification, identifying new revenue streams, and leading strategic initiatives that enhance customer value and strengthen our market position. You will work across a broad range of functions, including IT, Product, Marketing, Sales, Aftersales, and Operations to develop and implement new business opportunities, customer solutions and commercial models. This role will also play an important part in building a culture of innovation, experimentation, and disciplined execution with the New Business Solutions function.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Delivery & Innovation

* Lead the delivery of strategic initiatives from concept and business case through to implementation.
* Identify and assess new revenue streams, growth opportunities, and portfolio diversification initiatives.
* Develop innovative business models, products, and services aligned to future market and customer needs.
* Support the integration of new business initiatives into business and operational plans across the organisation.

Technology & Market Insight & Future Opportunities

* Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, industry developments, and evolving business models.
* Conduct market scanning, competitive analysis, and trend evaluation to inform strategic direction.
* Engage with industry bodies, external partners, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities and strengthen market insight.

Business Case Development & Commercial Analysis

* Prepare robust business cases, financial models, and commercial recommendations to support executive decision-making.
* Assess the viability, return on investment, and strategic fit of new business opportunities.
* Support budget planning and monitor the performance of new business initiatives.

Customer Solutions & Product Development

* Champion customer‐focused innovation and support the development of solutions that enhance the customer experience.
* Apply customer, market, and business insights to shape product and service opportunities.
* Work collaboratively with relevant internal teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned to business needs.

Process Improvement & Capability Building

* Develop and embed structured processes, frameworks, and ways of working to support new business initiatives.
* Lead ideation, prototyping, and innovation activity using agile and customer‐centric approaches.
* Foster a disciplined yet entrepreneurial approach to opportunity development and implementation.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

* Lead, mentor, and develop the New Business Solutions team.
* Build strong internal relationships across the business and maintain effective external partnerships.
* Represent IAL at industry events and maintain engagement with Isuzu Motors Limited (IML).

About You

You are a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and technology, combined with strong commercial acumen and leadership capability. You have an entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and a passion for emerging technologies. You have a highly developed analytical and critical thinking capability but also the ability to build relationships and drive stakeholder alignment.

To be successful in the role, ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Postgraduate qualification (MBA or similar) highly regarded.
* Background in automotive, transport, or advanced technologies (such as telematics or EV).
* Strong experience in business development, ideally bringing technology solutions to market with a strong background in product management and customer centric development.
* Understanding of digital ecosystems, platform architectures, and UX best practices.
* Experience in data analysis, financial modelling, and business case development.
* Exposure to innovation methodologies (such as design thinking, agile).
