The Opportunity
We are looking for the next Non-Destructive Testing Technician, to join the AH-64E Apache helicopter program. The Australian Apache will join the growing global fleet of more than 1280 aircraft operating in 18 countries, including coalition and regional partners.
Working side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer in Townsville, you will perform a significant role in the maintenance of Apache rotary-wing aircraft by conducting Non-Destructive Testing upon metal and composite structure.
As an Non-Destructive Testing Technician at Boeing you will:
* Be an integral part of the Apache capability.
* Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with OHS and EHS policies and procedures.
* Ensuring all maintenance activities are conducted and recorded IAW approved Aircraft Maintenance Documentation processes and procedures.
* Ensuring Tradespersons do not proceed past inspection check points until inspected.
* Assess, monitor and advise Management of environmental, human and operational factors that may potentially adversely affect technical airworthiness, and seek advice on subsequent reporting requirements.
* Advising assigned Tradespersons of applicable safety requirements and/or precautions.
* Ensure all activities including any ancillary tasks are completed for assigned tasks as required.
* Perform 'normal' and 'direct' inspections as well as, fault diagnosis, test and maintenance servicing of NDT related maintenance activities as authorised.
To be considered for the role you will have:
* Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics, Mechanical or Structures), or equivalent trade qualification (Desirable).
* Level Two Non-Destructive Testing Technician qualified in PT, MT, ET, UT and RT in accordance with European NDT Standard EN4179 or equivalent
* Apache Aircraft Familiarisation (CoA Provided).
* Minimum 5 years aviation experience in maintenance of aircraft.
* Demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise and work, and apply well developed problem solving skills to a variety of technical issues/problems.
* Demonstrated sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, aircraft maintenance/modification operating procedures and technical documentation in the repair of aeronautical product and systems.
* Demonstrated sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
* Working at Heights qualification.
