Cultural Heritage Officer
This role offers a unique chance to oversee the administration of Aboriginal cultural heritage across regional Victoria.
* Manage and maintain a register of Aboriginal places and objects in accordance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.
* Collaborate with Registered Aboriginal Parties and fulfill the Secretary's role in administering Cultural Heritage Permits and Management Plans.
You will work closely with local Aboriginal communities to coordinate and deliver project-based work strengthening their capacity to manage cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to improve understanding of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.
* Coordinate project-based work with Aboriginal communities to achieve shared goals.
* Assist in establishing strategic partnerships with local stakeholders to enhance cultural heritage management.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in History, Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, or Anthropology.
* Current driver's license for traveling to remote areas.
