They achieve this through providing an end-to-end risk and control service, including the effective design & implementation of controls, ensuring the operational risk & compliance frameworks are effectively implemented and also ensuring each business unit Leadership Team member has the right level of comfort and governance within their risk environment. The Senior Manager, Risk and Control Advisory in Business Lending reports directly to the Chapter Lead (Executive Manager) for Business Lending. As the leading business lender in Australia, Business Lending is committed to supporting Australian businesses grow serving over one million Business Banking customers across all lending segments - Small Business Banking, Regional & Agribusiness Banking, Commercial Banking and Major Client Group. As the Senior Manager, Risk and Control Advisory and Delivery, you will be responsible for ensuring that new and changing products and processes are assessed; awareness is raised and risk mitigations as it relates to Business Lending products and our customers. You will achieve this through the effective management of change initiatives, issues and incidents, design and implementation of controls to enable compliance and supporting the business through new and changing processes. On any given day, you will: Provide expert advice to senior leaders for control improvement activities, including the development of effective controls; changing products and processes; as well as throughout the implementation process Drive a proactive risk culture through collaboration with business partners Build capability in direct reports as well as the broader risk team Lead and coach team members to identify, initiate and manage actions to mitigate risks and to strengthen controls, including issues identified through audits and other external processes Ensure there is effective governance, oversight and management of operational risks Drive continuous improvement of the business control environment Lead risk profiling activities through the risk and control self-assessment process; following trigger events; and in assessing the impact of change Oversee and guiding others to conduct root cause analysis of issues and incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements Collating key information for the strategic planning process and provide insights for senior leaders following the analysis, tracking and reporting on the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS). Set expectations and manage data quality in/maintain various databases (including RiskInSite) and provide senior business leaders with insights on monthly management reporting Partner with Line 2 colleagues to determine the optimal course of action of risk and change matters We are interested in hearing from people who have: Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels Experience in Risk Management within Banking and/or Financial Services industry In depth knowledge of Operational and Compliance Risk frameworks. Credit risk experience is also desirable.
