Job Overview
The Craft Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring assigned construction operations and contractors' performance meet specifications and schedules. This role involves leading and directing operations within the Piping discipline.
Main Responsibilities
* Conduct employee reviews and identify training opportunities for Piping personnel, and complete performance evaluations on direct reports.
* Provide leadership on safety, accident, and fire prevention on the project, including safety orientation, preparation of safety procedures, and leading Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings.
* Ensure the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
* Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
* Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
* Implement corporate project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned piping operations.
Requirements
* A strong supervision background with the ability to lead and manage change is desirable.
* 8-10 years' experience in a similar role within the Heavy Industrial Field.
Key Skills
* Demonstrate effective communication skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
* Experience of liaising with and coordinating sub-contractors.
* Excellent problem-solving ability.
* Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
