Aegis Aged Care have several vacancies for experienced Kitchen Hands, within our beautiful Banksia Facility.
Located in Calista, a suburb surrounded by natural bush land in the heart of Kwinana Hub community, Aegis Banksia Park provides quality care and services for up to 168 residents in a modern and homely living environment.
As a Kitchen Hand you are a valuable member of the team working under the direction and support of the Cook/ Chef Manager.
A working day will involve:
Preparing resident's meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.
You should ideally be an empathetic person who:
Enjoys working with the elderly.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
You should possess the following:
At least 2 years' experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
A knowledge of food safety.
Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
