Job Description The Perth office is seeking an Associate to join its Investor State Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. The successful candidate will support clients in complex cross-border disputes, with a focus on investor-state arbitration and related litigation matters. The role requires experience in international commercial arbitration, investor-State arbitration, and public international law. The successful candidate will have acted in international arbitrations under the ICSID and ICC arbitration rules. Key Responsibilities Advise clients on investor-state disputes, including matters under bilateral and multilateral investment treaties. Represent clients in international arbitration proceedings (ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, and other forums). Draft legal submissions, witness statements, and expert reports. Conduct legal research and analysis on international investment law, treaty interpretation, and procedural issues. Liaise with clients, counsel, experts, and third-party funders. Assist in the management of multi-jurisdictional disputes and enforcement proceedings. Support business development initiatives and contribute to thought leadership in the field. Qualifications Qualified lawyer with over 2 years’ post-qualification experience in international arbitration or litigation, preferably with exposure to investor-state matters. Demonstrated experience in international commercial arbitration, investor-State arbitration, and public international law. Experience acting in international arbitrations under the ICSID and ICC arbitration rules. Strong academic background in law, ideally with a focus on international law or dispute resolution. Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities. Experience with cross-border disputes and familiarity with relevant arbitral rules is desirable.
