Competitive Salary & Allowances
A total value package of up to $499,771 will be offered depending on your level of experience, for a full‐time Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 (excluding on‐call or call‐back provisions).
The Role
* Participate in the Anatomical Pathology services provided by the department of Anatomical Pathology at the RHH.
* Conduct tissue review meetings.
* Undertake undergraduate teaching of medical students of the University of Tasmania.
* Provide supervision and training of postgraduate specialist trainees.
* Maintain involvement in research activities including supervision of research students.
* Monitor the effectiveness of the services provided to patients.
* Provide administrative functions to the unit as required.
* Work collaboratively with scientific staff and other health professionals.
* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation's Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people and related training.
* Perform any other duties consistent with the classification level.

Salary & Allowances
Base salary points for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 start at $216,300 and rise to $296,640 for Level 11, with further increments available. Additional allowances may include vehicle, professional development, relocation, on‐call and other allowances as outlined in the relevant award.

Details of Appointment
Permanent full‐time day work with on‐call, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. The selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for a period of twelve months from publication.
Essential Requirements
* Holds specialist registration; or
* Registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate on the specialist pathway; or
* Registered Medical Practitioner who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience.
Desirable Requirements
* RCPA autopsy certificates – adult and perinatal, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
