Job Summary
An exciting opportunity to join the Estates and Facilities team of Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as an Access Control and Car Parking Support Officer.
Key responsibilities include operating computerised access control systems, managing staff photographs and ID cards, handling first point of contact for access-related issues, and supporting car parking administration.
This role is based at Southport Hospital with flexibility across the Ormskirk Hospital site.
Responsibilities
* Operate computerised access control systems, updating staff and contractor access in line with Trust policy.
* Take staff photographs and produce new staff ID and access cards.
* Act as first point of contact for Trust on access control and ID‐related issues; contact appropriate staff during emergencies or system failures.
* Maintain customer service skills, providing a customer‐focused attitude.
* Carry out administrative tasks related to car parking, including reporting technical issues.
* Assist with record maintenance, spreadsheets, and reporting for facilities management.
* Support customer and client queries, providing professional communication at all levels.
* Identify and suggest improvements to procedures and practices to enhance productivity and quality.
* Assist in the production of training materials and information promoting services.
* Ensure compliance with quality standards, operational policies, and safe working practices.
* Manage office supplies, maintain stocks within budget and avoid waste.
* Reconcile deliveries and orders, resolve delivery issues, and support finance invoicing.
* Organise meetings and support managers' work schedules as needed.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: Educated to GCSE grade C or equivalent, including English and Maths.
* Desirable: IT literacy/skills qualification; evidence of continuous professional development.
Experience
* Essential: Experience of working in a customer services environment; fluency with Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
* Desirable: Experience in a facilities‐related role; understanding of access control systems, car parking systems, and face‐to‐face customer liaison within a health service environment.
