Initial 12 month assignment Immediate Start Melbourne, Canberra & Brisbane offices Green Light have an exciting opportunity for a high calibre, experienced Mainframe Developer - COBOL (baseline) to join one of our delivery partners. This position will end-to-end consultation from requirements, solution design through to implementation, working closely with internal stakeholders of end customers to successfully deliver capability. As a Mainframe Consultant, you will be responsible for analysis, build, test and maintenance of the delivered product. You will need collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to decide on the enhancements in existing applications. You will assist in the design, build, support and deployment of the solution. You will need to participate in every phase of IT delivery lifecycle. This role does require an active AGSVA baseline clearance at a minimum. Consultants that do not hold this minimum requirement will not be considered. Australian Citizens willing to obtain a baseline clearance can be considered. The role works 4 days onsite and may change to 3 days onsite during the course of the project. This team provides end-to-end delivery capability for an established project for a large end customer. Responsibilities: Expertise mainframe development – z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2 etc You will configure, maintain and support z/OS Operating System Environments. Utilize SMP/E for vendor product and system OS maintenance. You interact with technology teams such as Computer Operations and DBAs You utilize your knowledge of TCP/IP and SNA/VTAM architecture for networking support. You will work with Security personnel to help define and configure RACF security rules for dataset and other resource definitions. You configure and administer controls and policies for automation products that run in the z/OS environment. You can troubleshoot and track problems and incident tickets with vendors and clients. Requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mainframe Developer and/or Consultant Proven background various mainframe technologies – z/OS 2.2 and later. Knowledge of SMP/E, Operator Commands, ISPF, SDSF, and experience using IBM utilities - IEBENGER, IEBCOPY, and IDCAMS. Knowledge of a progressive mainframe operating system maintaining complex mainframe systems, including: installing, tuning, testing, SAN fibre connectivity and date storage concepts, virtual tape concepts, current data storage and backup technologies, and debugging DB software.
