The Role
OneSKY is a joint initiative with the Department of Defence to deliver the next‐generation CMATS. As the Operations Director, you will oversee the strategic and operational transformation of Australia's air traffic management system, ensuring safety and service continuity across Airservices and Defence. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, manage complex governance frameworks, and foster a high‐performing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the transition to CMATS and oversee the sustainment programme execution
* Establish governance frameworks and manage configuration controls
* Drive operational change and embed harmonised procedures
* Coordinate matrixed enterprise delivery (Change Management, EPMO, Communications)
* Engage senior stakeholders across Airservices, Defence, and suppliers
* Foster a high‐performing, resilient workforce through inclusive leadership
The Person
You will be a seasoned senior leader with a proven track record in delivering complex, large‐scale transformation programmes within high‐stakes environments. You possess deep expertise in change management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic programme delivery, particularly within aviation or similarly regulated sectors. You have exceptional communication and influencing skills, can navigate complex governance structures, and work collaboratively across civil and military domains. A forward‐thinking mindset, resilience in the face of change, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement are essential to lead the successful transition to CMATS.
