An exciting opportunity exists to join the Radiation Oncology team as the Assistant Director Radiation Therapy, Cancer Care. You will need to be a professional leader with an expert level of skill who provides authoritative clinical counsel and operational management within the Radiation Oncology Service.

The Adem Crosby Centre provides high-quality public radiation therapy services to the Sunshine Coast community. The service currently operates:
- 3 Elekta Versa HD Linacs
- Monaco Planning Platform
- CT Simulator
- MR Simulator
- Elekta Brachytherapy system
- A range of supporting technologies
This busy service is experiencing considerable expansion. The addition of a third linear accelerator, technical advancements and the construction of a dedicated brachytherapy suite have resulted in the need for a second Assistant Director - Radiation Therapy position.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
**Clinical Practice**:
- Facilitate a coordinated approach to the successful implementation of new technologies and techniques on a State-wide basis.
**Communication / Team Participation**:
- Provide regular expert consultancy to internal and external bodies, agencies and the public with regard to professional, technical and ethical aspects of radiation therapy at a departmental, district, Area, State and National level
- Provide daily expert clinical advice to Radiation Therapists, Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists and other key stakeholders
**Leadership / Work Unit Management**:
- Provide mentoring and expert training in order to develop the radiation therapy planning and treatment skills and knowledge of all staff, encouraging them to continually strive for best practice and manage performance appraisals and development plans of Radiation Therapists
- Contribute to financial management through the development of departmental service plans, the annual budget and in the requisitioning of specialised supplies for radiation therapy planning or treatment whilst ensuring financial decisions are made within Queensland Health guidelines
