Our Corporate Banking (International Mid-Market) team serves some of the most rapidly growing and globally oriented companies in Australia. Supporting companies with turnovers from approximately $100 million to $2 billion, our client base includes public, private, and financial sponsor-owned companies. The team has achieved outstanding results and is committed to providing high levels of support to both existing and new clients, continuing this successful trajectory.
As an Origination Director, you will be responsible for originating and onboarding new corporate banking clients to HSBC. Your duties will include prospecting, sales, structuring deals, and managing credit approvals and legal documentation. Portfolio management may be a smaller component, mainly related to onboarded clients.
This role comes at a pivotal time as the business embarks on its next growth phase. You will focus on enhancing HSBC's market profile, responding to referrals, driving new business, and offering deal structuring expertise to the team. You will also have the opportunity to influence and shape HSBC's client acquisition strategy in the corporate banking sector.

Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Growing sustainable revenues through targeted acquisition of new international corporate banking clients.
2. Developing strong relationships with C-suite executives at target clients and engaging with key market advisory contacts and professionals.
3. Conducting detailed credit analyses and structuring deals that balance customer needs with HSBC's interests, maintaining prudent banking standards.
4. Mentoring and guiding junior team members, supporting their technical and professional growth, and providing general support to the broader team on deals and structuring.
5. Supporting the development and implementation of effective business strategies, including evolving the origination approach to manage customer relationships proactively and deliver superior service.
6. Promoting HSBC's market presence, including providing thought leadership content.
7. Adhering to the HSBC risk appetite framework, monitoring, and implementing necessary updates based on internal or external changes.
8. Maintaining accurate deal and customer data in relevant systems.
9. Proactively managing relationships, customer contact plans, and pipeline development for existing and prospective clients.
