We are currently seeking an experienced Power Station Panel Operator to join our operations team at Vales Point Power Station.
This role involves the safe and efficient operation of boilers, turbines, generators, and associated plant systems within a coal-fired generation environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in power station panel operations as well as a strong technical background, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork and safety.
What You'll Do
Operate and Monitor Systems: Manage multi-fuel fired boilers, steam-driven turbines, and auxiliary plant systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Enhance Asset Performance: Proactively monitor power station equipment to optimize generating assets and prevent performance shortfalls.
Dispatch Generation: Interpret NEM requirements and dispatch generation in accordance with Energy Markets guidelines.
Conduct Inspections: Perform routine checks and record operational data to maintain reliability and compliance.
Execute Safe Procedures: Carry out start-up and shutdown processes following established safety protocols.
Lead Teams: Provide leadership to maintenance crews and control room staff to support plant reliability and day-to-day operations.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to NER/NEL requirements and maintain accurate shift logs and reports.
Promote Safety and Environment: Operate within environmental, health, and safety regulations to protect people and assets.
Prevent Shortfalls: Follow established protocols to minimize generation losses and restore equipment safely and promptly.
Communicate Effectively: Share updates through incident reports and daily logs to keep stakeholders informed.

What You'll Bring
Certificate III or IV in ESI Generation – Operations (or equivalent qualification).
High Risk Licences in Boiler Advanced (BA) and Turbine Operations (TO) or equivalent.
Previous experience in panel operations in a coal-fired or thermal power generation environment.
Strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills.
Ability to work a rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Commitment to workplace safety and environmental responsibility.
