What You’ll Bring To Make An Impact
- Strong understanding of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), DSPF, and related compliance standards.
- Experience in risk management, security architecture, and incident response for mission-critical systems.
- Familiarity with network security, identity and access management, and secure system design.
- Proven experience in system certification and accreditation processes within Defence or similar regulated environments.
Your Current Role And Responsibilities
- The Air Component Command and Control Capability System (AC-C2CS) is a mission-critical suite of software applications that enables the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to effectively plan, prepare, execute, manage, and report on aviation operations.
- IT Security Officer responsibilities include:
- Oversee adherence to Defence security frameworks (ISM, DSPF) and manage system accreditation.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain security documentation.
- Define and enforce security controls, access management, and data protection measures.
- Lead incident response planning, continuous monitoring, and vulnerability management.
- Provide guidance and training to project teams and stakeholders on security best practices.
