Ready to make a real impact while kick-starting your career?
If you're a nursing or midwifery student who's passionate about fairness, advocacy, and supporting your future profession, this is your chance to join the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Federation (Tasmanian Branch) as an Intern Organiser.
We're the largest union representing nurses and midwives in Tasmania, and we're all about improving pay, conditions, safety, and professional standards. This internship gives you hands-on experience in union organising, campaigning, and member engagement—working alongside experienced Organisers and connecting with nurses and midwives across the state.
What you'll do (and love):
* Hit the ground running by updating notice boards and keeping workplaces in the loop
* Recruit new members and help grow the ANMF community
* Get creative with campaign materials and social media content
* Map workplaces and collaborate with ANMF Delegates
* Support delegate development and recruitment
* Share your ideas on how we can better engage with students—your voice matters
Who we're looking for:
* A nursing or midwifery student who cares about advocacy, fairness, and the profession
* A confident communicator who loves connecting with people
* Organised, proactive, and ready to work both independently and in a team
* Social media savvy? Awesome—but not essential
* Passionate about improving conditions for nurses and midwives
What's in it for you?
* Real-world experience in organising and advocacy
* Mentorship from experienced ANMF Organisers
* Exposure to campaigning and member engagement
* The chance to make a difference for your future profession
