Accounts Payable Officer – Government Contract
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experiencedAccounts Payable Officerto join agovernment departmenton atemporary contractcovering a secondment untilJune ****.
You'll support the finance team by managing supplier payments, investigating invoice discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with government financial procedures.
Responsibilities
Process and verifyAccounts Payable invoices and paymentsin line with policy and supplier terms.
Investigate and resolvepurchase order and supplier issues.
Preparepayment runs, includingforeign currency transactions, in compliance with treasury standards.
PerformGR/IR (Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt)reconciliations for accurate ledger posting.
Supportprocess improvementsand maintain up-to-date AP documentation.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience inAccounts PayableorFinance Officerroles (government/public sector experience highly regarded).
Strong knowledge of AP processes, reconciliations, and vendor management.
SAP experience preferred, especiallySAP S/4HANA
Excellent communication, attention to detail, and time management.
IntermediateExceland financial systems skills.
