The Role
Reporting to the Livestock Manager, you will work as part of our team, assisting in calf catching and calf management. Using a quad bike and calf-catching sidecar, you will be directly involved in supporting calf survivability and accurate early registration.
Key responsibilities include:
 * Assisting with calf catching and marking
 * Recording data into a mobile-friendly app (using your own mobile phone, or a work phone provided if required)
 * Collecting DNA samples, identifying gender and dam, applying ear tags and NLIS devices, recording weights, and administering animal health treatments
 * Supporting cows with calving difficulties
 * Maintaining the calf-rearing facility and feeding poddy calves, including hand-raising and observation
 * Participating in broader farm work such as feeding, silage production and carting, stock movements, water checks, and property maintenance as required

About You
We are looking for someone reliable, practical, and motivated to be part of our team.
You will have:
 * Proven experience riding a quad bike or motorbike (essential)
 * Experience with cattle (highly desirable)
 * Practical farm experience, including maintenance skills
 * Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
 * Excellent communication skills — able to record information clearly, follow instructions accurately, and work effectively within a team
 * A team-oriented approach, while also capable of working independently
 * An Australian manual driver's licence and experience towing a trailer (essential)
 * The ability to "read the play" and anticipate livestock needs
 * Initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving ability
 * Physical fitness and good health to meet the demands of the role
 * Legal entitlement to work in Australia (essential)
 * Willingness to use your own mobile phone for on-farm data recording (a work phone can be provided if preferred)
