We are looking for an exceptionally skilled and experienced WHS Manager to join our client for a 3-6 month assignment. Our client is a dedicated organisation committed to delivering efficient and sustainable solutions for Western Sydney. This position plays a critical role in improving the overall development and quality of life in local communities.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Project Director, you will provide management support and advice to the team. Your primary focus will be to cultivate a strong and sustainable safety culture, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with legislative, client, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Project WHS Management Plan to ensure compliance with contractual, legislative, and best practice standards.
- Providing WHS technical advice to project management, supervisors, and workforce to support the effective implementation of safety management system requirements.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining a WHS Induction and Training Program, ensuring personnel and subcontractors understand their obligations under WHS policies and procedures.
- Conducting reviews and audits of Delivery Phase subcontractors, coordinating WHS audit schedules, and managing an investigation program for high-consequence events.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined and agreed with the Project Director.
- Extensive experience in work health and safety management, with a track record in preparing and implementing WHS management systems and plans.
- A degree in Safety, Environmental, or Risk Management.
- Proven hands-on, site-based experience, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation, standards, processes, and practices, preferably for major rail infrastructure projects.
- Extensive experience in audit management practices and delivering safety training programs.
- Previous experience liaising with government and regulatory bodies (preferred).
- Experience in delivering safety cultural change programs (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
