Role Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting equipment in the plasterboard production line to ensure consistent product quality and protected, efficient plant operation. This includes handling raw materials, setting production parameters, conducting in-process checks, and supporting maintenance and housekeeping activities.
Production Operations
- Operate machinery across the board line (mixer, forming station, dryer, knife, stacker).
- Monitor process variables (board thickness, speed, weight, temperature, etc.).
- Set up and adjust equipment based on production specifications.
- Ensure correct dosing of additives, foam, and raw materials.
- Conduct visual and manual checks to ensure board quality standards are met.
- Record production data and report any deviations.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all site safety procedures (PPE, LOTO, confined space, etc.).
- Identify and report hazards or near-miss events.
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Handle equipment and materials in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Quality Assurance
- Collect and test samples (thickness, density, core integrity).
- Log defects and assist in root cause investigations.
- Support corrective actions as directed by QA or supervisors.
Desirable:
- Experience in plasterboard, cement, or continuous production processes.
- Forklift license (LF/LO).
- Basic computer literacy (for HMI or SCADA systems).
12 Hour Rotating Roster: Day Shift (6am start - 6pm finish) and Night Shift (6pm Start - 6am Finish).
