They are committed to sustainable sourcing of product to recycling and sustainable packaging. Due to company growth, they are seeking a well established people leader to further develop the sales team and continue to drive sales and excel in customer relationships.
The Opportunity
As the Head of Retail across major retailers, independents, and discounters you will be reporting to the locally based Managing Director and your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
* Delivery of Budgeted NSV and GM% for the Financial Year for all defined customers
* Lead customer management strategy, building positive business relationships with all functions in customers businesses
* Develop robust joint business plan with key customers using a collaborative approach to reach mutual success across all categories
* Collaborate with internal marketing and category team to drive consumer engagement at Point of Purchase
* Negotiate monitor and manage pricing, trading terms and promotions
* Trade Spend Management and Revenue Management working with internal finance team
* Own the weekly sales review, monthly forecast and Quarterly Budget process
* Grow, develop and lead the retail team (5 direct reports) and set clear KPI's, leading from the front.
* Actively seek new business, grow distribution and achieve NPD targets and seek out all tenders
* Represent the business at appropriate trade committees, events and functions
About You
* Proven experience in FMCG Head of Retail, Customer Director or Sales Director role
* Solid and credible trade relationships that demonstrate successful customer relationship within the FMCG environment to deliver short- & long-term objectives is a must
* Demonstrated success delivering sales growth, profitability and strong in-market execution through effective engagement of internal sales team
* Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
* Outstanding commercial acumen, including pricing strategy, margin management and financial management
* Experience in fresh food/produce, and/or frozen ready to cook categories an advantage
* Strong understanding of FMCG supply chain, forecasting, demand planning and inventory management
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Proactive solutions-focused mindset with strong accountability for outcomes
* Natural leadership qualities with the ability to build a positive and engaged sales team
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline highly regarded
